Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho/Trauma unit position requiring MO or compact license and ortho experience.

Details

  • Work on a 23-bed Ortho/Trauma unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
  • Cares for post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients, trauma patients, and some neuro overflow cases
  • Unit supported by Unit Secretary and PCTs
  • Uses traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
  • Charting performed in Meditech
  • Night shift schedule from 7p-7a with 3 12-hour shifts including 3 weekend shifts per schedule period
  • Floating required to other Med/Surg level units such as General MS, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma, with contract labor floated first
  • Follows bedside shift report and hourly rounding protocols

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MO or Compact)
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
  • Ortho experience required
  • Telemetry and NIH Stroke experience helpful
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • Two professional references required for MO placements
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for orthopedic, trauma, and neuro overflow patients
  • Navy scrubs required as part of dress code
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
  • First-time travelers may be considered
