Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Ortho/Trauma unit requiring prior ortho experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a 23-bed 6 East Ortho/Trauma unit
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Supported by unit secretaries and patient care techs
• Specialized equipment includes traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Schedule consists of 3 twelve-hour shifts with 3 weekend shifts per schedule period
• Night shift hours from 7p to 7a
• Contract staff float first, to other Med/Surg level units including General MS, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma
• Bedside shift report and hourly rounding required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Ortho experience required
• Telemetry and NIH Stroke Scale experience helpful
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Care for post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients, trauma patients, and occasional neuro overflow cases
• Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Navy scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
