Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Hospice position requiring HCHB and OASIS experience along with a WA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Home health/hospice setting caring for geriatric patients
  • Average caseload of 5-7 patients per day
  • Day shift, 5x8-hour schedule (8:00-17:00), covering either Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday
  • Two RNs needed for this assignment
  • EMR: HCHB (Homecare Homebase) required
  • 30 visits weekly required for 40-hour weekly guarantee
  • All charting must be completed by 9am the following morning
  • On-call rotation may be required

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required, in-hand at time of consideration
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent relevant hospice/home health experience required
  • OASIS experience required for staff completing Start of Care (SOC)
  • Proficiency in HCHB charting system required
  • Active driver's license and personal transportation required
  • Skills in end-of-life care, pain management, symptom assessment, and postmortem care preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide hospice care including death pronouncement, postmortem care, and death/dying counseling
  • Support patients and families through goal setting, education, and intake assessments
  • Manage pain using WHO Analgesic Ladder, breakthrough dosing, and equianalgesic opioid dosing
  • Address symptoms such as ascites, constipation/diarrhea, and nausea/vomiting
  • Territory covers up to a 60-mile radius from the hub office, with flexibility expected
  • Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
  • Dress code is scrubs of any color; jeans not permitted
  • iPad provided; personal cell phone use not required for work
  • Mileage reimbursed at the IRS standard rate
  • Monday orientation required, including billable orientation modules
  • First-time travelers will not be considered
  • Travel pairs accepted, provided each traveler has their own territory and transportation
  • Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 6 months and approved by HR before returning as a traveler
  • RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application
