Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

  • Neuro-Stroke ASC unit with 38 beds arranged in pods
  • Patient ratio of 3–5:1, max 5:1
  • Patient population includes stroke and spine surgery cases
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • RN does not read telemetry
  • Free charge nurse and pod layout structure
  • Night shift, 6:45p-7:15a, every other weekend required
  • 36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours each
  • No local rate drop

Requirements

  • Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
  • Skilled in IV insertion, blood draws, PCA management, trach care, and central line care
  • Experience administering heparin

  • Provide patient and family centered care while managing a group of patients
  • Perform assessments and reassessments, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate clinical outcomes
  • Mentor and precept staff while promoting teamwork and evidence based practice
  • Participate in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts
  • Comply with regulatory standards and the organization's Practice Governance model
  • Facilitate patient and family education specific to care needs and discharge planning
