Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of acute PCU experience, Epic proficiency, and neuro care expertise.

Details

  • Work on a 42-bed Transitional Care Unit (3E/3W TCU)
  • Patient ratios of 4:1 or 3:1
  • Patient population includes stroke, transplant, and Parkinson's disease diagnoses
  • RN must read telemetry and titrate medications
  • Uses equipment including dynamap and bladder scanner
  • Administers time-critical medications including insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, heparin, and nitroglycerin
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45pm-7:15am
  • 36 hours per week across 3 shifts
  • Every other weekend required per unit need
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active KY or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Proficiency in neuro care required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required

Additional Information

  • Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and functions as a mentor/preceptor
  • Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to support patient and family needs
  • Supportive unit culture with flexible scheduling
