Job Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Mother/Baby, Postpartum, or high-acuity postpartum nursing required
• Experience caring for up to 4 couplets and managing census surges strongly preferred
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; compact license must be in hand at submission
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• High-risk obstetric care experience required
• Experience with magnesium sulfate therapy required
• Experience with postpartum hemorrhage management required
• Experience with Pitocin and Foley management required
• Ability to support patients experiencing substance withdrawal preferred
• JADA experience preferred
• Must be comfortable floating as needed within the local care network

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate postpartum nursing care to mother and newborn pairs
• Deliver couplet care and support maternal recovery following delivery
• Monitor patients closely and identify changes in condition quickly
• Support high-risk obstetric patients with strong clinical judgment
• Administer and manage medications and therapies, including magnesium sulfate and Pitocin
• Assess and respond to postpartum hemorrhage and other complications
• Document accurately in Epic and maintain timely, thorough charting
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote excellent outcomes
• Educate and support families through postpartum recovery and newborn care
• Adapt to a high-volume, fast-paced maternal-newborn unit while maintaining patient-centered care
