- Location: Seattle, WA 98122
- Start Date: 10/19/2026
- Duration: 26 weeks
- Schedule: 3 or 4 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts
- Shift Hours: 07:00 - 19:30
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
- Setting: High-acuity postpartum, Mother-Baby, and couplet care unit
- Float Requirement: May float to nearby postpartum and labor & delivery areas as assigned
- Weekend Coverage: Required
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in high-acuity postpartum, Mother-Baby, or maternal-newborn nursing
- Experience with high-risk obstetric patients preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Experience with magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, Foley catheter care, postpartum hemorrhage, and substance withdrawal care
- Ability to care for up to 4 couplets when census increases
- Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical assessment skills in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Compact or active state RN license required at time of submission
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate postpartum nursing care to mothers and newborns
- Assess, monitor, and support patients recovering from delivery and managing post-birth complications
- Administer and monitor medications and therapies commonly used in postpartum and Mother-Baby care
- Educate patients and families on recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding support, and discharge readiness
- Recognize and respond quickly to postpartum hemorrhage, maternal complications, and other high-risk obstetric concerns
- Document care accurately in Epic and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Adapt to fluctuating census demands while maintaining excellent patient-centered care
