  • Patient Setting: High-volume postpartum unit with high-risk obstetric patients
  • Weekend Coverage: Required
  • Float Requirement: May float to nearby postpartum and labor & delivery areas as needed

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Mother/Baby, Postpartum, or high-acuity postpartum RN experience required
  • Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients required
  • Current Registered Nurse license required; compact license must be in hand at submission
  • BLS and NRP required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience with magnesium therapy, Pitocin, Foley care, postpartum hemorrhage, and couplet care strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage a high census and adapt to occasional surge capacity
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
  • Minimum 1 year of Mother/Baby or postpartum nursing experience required

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate postpartum, mother/baby, and newborn nursing care
  • Monitor recovery following delivery and assess for complications in high-risk obstetric cases
  • Perform routine postpartum assessments, including fundus, lochia, and perineal care
  • Support patients receiving magnesium sulfate therapy and other common postpartum interventions
  • Respond quickly to postpartum hemorrhage and other urgent clinical changes
  • Care for couplets in a busy, high-acuity Mother/Baby unit
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes
  • Float between related units as needed to support patient care
