• Float Requirement: May float to nearby postpartum and labor & delivery areas as needed

Registered Nurse Requirements

• 2 years of recent Mother/Baby, postpartum, or high-acuity post-partum experience required
• Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients strongly preferred
• Active compact RN license in hand at submission
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to manage up to 4 couplets during census surges
• Experience with magnesium therapy, Pitocin, Foley care, postpartum hemorrhage, and substance withdrawal preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare setting with strong teamwork and flexibility

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate postpartum nursing care to mothers and newborns
• Monitor and support couplet care with attention to maternal recovery and infant stability
• Assess and manage common postpartum needs, including fundus, lochia, perineal, and incision care
• Administer and monitor medications and therapies such as Pitocin and magnesium, as indicated
• Recognize and respond to postpartum complications, including hemorrhage and high-risk obstetric concerns
• Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
• Adapt to fluctuating census demands and float to related units when needed
• Support a positive patient experience through education, advocacy, and skilled bedside care
