• Schedule Notes: Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs; float may be required to NICU or L&D as needed

Job Requirements

• 2 years of Mother/Baby, Postpartum, or Couplet Care experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Active Registered Nurse license required; compact license must be in hand at submission if applicable
• BLS and NRP required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with postpartum recovery, newborn care, and discharge teaching preferred
• Ability to work weekends and maintain schedule flexibility

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate postpartum nursing care for patients recovering from vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, tubal ligation, and circumcision procedures
• Deliver couplet care and support low-risk antepartum, transition nursery, and normal newborn care
• Perform infant assessments, including thermoregulation, glucose management, newborn identification, and phototherapy support as needed
• Educate and support parents with breastfeeding, newborn care, discharge teaching, and recovery instructions
• Administer and monitor medications and therapies, including blood products, heparin, insulin, magnesium sulfate, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, and wound vacs
• Monitor and manage postpartum concerns such as pain, bleeding, hypertension, postpartum readmission, and post-epidural recovery
• Support wound and incision care, bladder assessment, Foley catheter insertion, and related postpartum interventions
• Collaborate with the care team and float to nearby NICU or L&D areas when needed
