Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring an OH or compact RN license and at least 2 years of current PICU experience.

Details

• Pediatric Intensive Care Unit setting within a children's hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Float requirement to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Epic charting system experience required
• Level 1 trauma and teaching hospital experience preferred

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license required in hand
• BLS and PALS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required (CVPICU-only experience not accepted)
• First-time travelers considered with closer to 3 years of PICU experience and recent Level 1 trauma experience
• Skilled in ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, and arterial blood gas interpretation
• Experience with central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration preferred
• Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience with ICP monitoring, insulin administration, and post-acute abdominal surgery care preferred
• Two supervisory or manager-titled references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Floating to other units is a standard expectation and a key point of emphasis at this facility
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at this facility within the past 2 years
• No local candidates allowed within a 60-mile radius
• Strict attendance policy in place, with no call/no show incidents taken seriously
