Description

American Traveler is hiring a PICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring current PICU experience and an active OH or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU of a children's hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Floating required to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license required in hand
• BLS and PALS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required (CVPICU-only experience does not qualify)
• Recent Level 1 trauma experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Two supervisory references required at time of consideration, at least one manager or supervisor titled
• Skills required include ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and arterial line management, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Additional preferred skills include ICP monitoring, chest tube management, PICC line management, and administration of blood and blood products

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients requiring intensive monitoring and respiratory support
• Floating to other units is a strong expectation and point of emphasis for this facility
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have closer to 3 years of PICU experience with recent Level 1 trauma experience
• Candidates who previously worked permanently at this facility must have a 2-year gap before being eligible
• No local candidates allowed within a 60-mile radius
