Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level III/IV NICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring OH or compact RN license and prior high-acuity neonatal experience.

Details

• Work in the NICU of a children's hospital caring for neonates ranging from <24 weeks to >34 weeks gestation
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Float requirement to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, medical-surgical, and rarely ED as needed
• Float requirement to BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU with average length of stay of 2-3 years, involving frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement
• May float to other campuses including OH Health Riverside, Mount Carmel St. Ann's, OH Health Grant Medical, OH Health Dublin Methodist, and OH Health Doctors Hospital
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience and 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with high-risk delivery attendance, ventilator management, and respiratory support including CPAP, high frequency ventilation, and oscillators
• Experience with neonatal conditions including NEC, sepsis, seizure disorders, and respiratory distress syndrome
• 2 professional references required, at least one from a manager or supervisor
• Cannot have worked in a permanent position at this facility within the last 2 years

Additional Information

• Provide high-acuity neonatal nursing care including IV therapy, ventilator management, and specialized procedures for critically ill infants
• Two-part interview process: initial screening with the Float Pool Leader followed by a possible second interview with the NICU unit manager
• Floating to other units and campuses is a significant expectation for this role
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO must be submitted for consideration
