Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring Level I trauma CVICU experience and float coverage to PICU, NICU, and Stepdown units.
Details
- Work in the Cardio PICU within a Level I trauma hospital setting
- Provides nursing care to pediatric patients with cardiovascular conditions ranging from simple to complex
- Day shift schedule of 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
- Required to float to PICU, NICU, and Stepdown units
- Must commit to 4 weekend shift coverage in a 4-week scheduling block, with weekend dayshifts on Saturdays and Sundays
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of one year of RN experience required
- CVICU experience in a Level I trauma setting required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
Additional Information
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric cardiovascular patients
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and notes changes in physician orders
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Obtains and monitors physiological data, observing and intervening on physiological changes as needed
- Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and will not accommodate push starts
- Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer to allow for compliance clearance
- Returning workers may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
