Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring Level I trauma CVICU experience and PALS certification.

Details

  • Work in the Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU (Cardio PICU) of a hospital environment
  • Cares for pediatric patients with complex cardiovascular health problems
  • Days shift, 12 hours per day, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients
  • Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
  • Obtains and monitors physiological data, intervening as necessary

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact eNLC) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), both issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
  • CVICU experience in a Level I trauma setting required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services

Additional Information

  • Assists physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
  • Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and notes changes in physician orders
  • Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
  • Extensions limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying for another contract
