Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Stepdown position requiring cardiac drip titration experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) of a Level II Trauma Center teaching hospital
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating to Tele or Med-Surg floors required if overstaffed, with travelers floated first
  • Epic EMR used, experience required

Requirements

  • Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at submission
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/Stepdown nursing experience required
  • Required hands-on experience titrating and managing cardiac drips
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team activation
  • Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to cardiac, renal, neurological, and GI patient populations within a stepdown/PCU setting
  • Manage patients with conditions such as CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, renal failure, and post cardiac catheterization/surgery
  • Utilize wound care, insulin drip titration, and isolation precaution protocols as needed
  • Scrubs of any color accepted for RNs
  • No parking fee at this facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rates
  • Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
