Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Stepdown position requiring cardiac drip titration experience and WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown setting within a short term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital
  • Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Patient ratios of 1:3-4
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Travelers may float to Telemetry or Med-Surg floors first if unit is overstaffed
  • Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
  • PCU or Stepdown nursing experience required
  • Cardiac drip titration and management experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry

Additional Information

  • Care for patients requiring cardiac telemetry, renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal monitoring and management
  • Experience with post cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, and pacemaker management preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Candidates may select either Thanksgiving or Christmas as one of their required holidays, but not both
  • Scrub color for RNs is any color
  • No parking fees at this facility
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be considered for the local rate
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of consideration
