Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position on night shift, requiring cardiac drip titration experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown setting in a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float to Telemetry or Med-Surg floors if overstaffed, with travelers floated first
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Cardiac drip titration and management experience required (hard requirement)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for cardiac telemetry, stepdown, and renal/neurological patient populations
• Manage respiratory therapies including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and manage central, peripheral, and PICC lines
• Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and respond to rapid response/code situations
• Care for patients with CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, and traumatic brain injury
• Manage wound care, insulin drips, and pacemaker patients
• Provide pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery care
• Candidates may select one holiday off between Thanksgiving or Christmas, not both
• Must reside within 50 miles for local candidate consideration at a lower bill rate
• Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius
