Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or a compact state at the time of submission
- At least 1 year of recent RN experience required; 2 years preferred
- Prior PCU, IMC, step-down, or progressive care nursing experience strongly preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- BLS certification required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
- Ability to care for patients with complex medical and post-operative needs
- BSN preferred
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to collaborative, patient-centered care
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care in a progressive care and intermediate care environment
- Monitor and assess patients with liver transplant and transplant hepatology diagnoses
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and support complex treatment plans
- Interpret telemetry, dysrhythmias, and laboratory trends as part of ongoing patient monitoring
- Care for patients requiring oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, and other advanced interventions within scope
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, and rapid response resources
- Document accurately in Epic and maintain timely, thorough charting
- Float within scope when needed and adapt to changing patient needs
- Support post-operative liver care and pre/post-op recovery needs
- Deliver compassionate care while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety, teamwork, and quality outcomes
