  • Schedule Expectations: Every other weekend and major holidays required

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure
  • At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
  • Experience in an acute care hospital, telemetry, PCU, or stepdown setting preferred
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required or obtained within 6 months of hire
  • NIH Stroke certification required
  • Ability to read and verify rhythm strips
  • Experience managing and titrating cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, and Amiodarone
  • Experience with BiPAP and insulin drips
  • Proficiency with lab draws and peripheral IV starts
  • Comfort working with chest tubes and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Must be able to float within scope and demonstrated competency
  • Must be eligible to work as a travel nurse and reside outside the local radius requirement

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to cardiac and progressive care patients
  • Conduct thorough assessments, identify changes in condition, and prioritize nursing interventions
  • Administer medications and manage cardiac therapies in accordance with clinical standards
  • Monitor telemetry and respond quickly to changes in rhythm or patient status
  • Titrate cardiac drips and support patients receiving BiPAP or insulin infusions
  • Assist with chest tube care, hemodynamic monitoring, and other advanced stepdown needs
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the care team to coordinate patient care
  • Educate patients and families, promoting understanding, safety, and recovery
  • Document care accurately and maintain strong communication throughout the shift
  • Support a calm, professional, and patient-centered environment during high-acuity situations
