Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry Contract in Columbus, Ohio
Join a collaborative adult medical-surgical telemetry team as a Travel Registered Nurse in Columbus, Ohio. This on-site travel nursing assignment offers consistent night-shift scheduling, a manageable 1:4 patient ratio, and the opportunity to provide high-quality care to patients with complex medical conditions in a dynamic acute care environment. First-time travel nurses are welcome.

Travel Nursing Job Details
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- End Date: February 15, 2027
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
- Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Shift: Nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Coverage: Approximately 3–4 weekend days per month
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients
- Typical Assignment: Approximately four patients per nurse
- Float Requirement: Flexibility to float to other units as needed
- Openings: Two positions
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a valid compact-state RN license in hand at the time of submission
- At least 1 year of recent registered nursing experience in an adult medical-surgical telemetry or acute care setting
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Demonstrated competency with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response or code team procedures
- Experience with IV initiation and maintenance, peripheral and PICC line care, oxygen administration, nasal cannula use, chest tubes, and isolation precautions
- Ability to care for patients experiencing opioid withdrawal, organ failure, changes in level of consciousness, behavioral concerns, and developmental or cognitive delays
- Two professional references, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader; coworker-only references are not accepted
- Flu vaccination is required; medical exemptions may be considered
- Willingness to complete credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting promptly after accepting the assignment
- PCU experience is not required
Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with a broad range of general medical-surgical and telemetry diagnoses
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Administer medications, IV antibiotics, oxygen therapy, and other prescribed treatments safely and effectively
- Perform and document patient assessments, care planning, interventions, and reassessments in accordance with clinical standards
- Manage peripheral IVs and PICC lines and perform routine medical-surgical procedures, including Foley catheter care, chest tube management, and bedside procedures
- Support patients receiving or recovering from procedures such as paracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, and lumbar puncture
- Use rapid response and code team resources when clinically indicated
- Apply appropriate isolation precautions and personal protective equipment practices
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, phlebotomy, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Float to other units as assigned while maintaining safe, compassionate, and adaptable patient care
- Educate patients and families, promote safety, and contribute to a positive patient experience throughout the assignment
