  • Weekend Coverage: Required
  • Floating: May be required to float within the organization as needed
  • Patient Ratio: 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • EPIC experience required
  • Experience caring for adult neuro and stepdown patients strongly preferred
  • Ability to work rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Comfortable floating to other units as needed
  • Strong clinical background in stroke and neurological nursing care
  • Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult PCU patients with neurological and medical-surgical needs
  • Monitor and assess patients with stroke, CVA, craniotomy, intracranial bleed, and other neuro diagnoses
  • Administer and manage therapies such as TNK and post-TPA care
  • Support patients requiring lumbar drains, heparin protocols, and dysrhythmia management
  • Perform thorough assessments, interventions, and documentation in EPIC
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary support services to promote safe, effective patient care
  • Maintain infection control and isolation precautions while delivering compassionate bedside care
  • Adapt to changing patient needs and assist with float assignments when required
