  • Float Requirement: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Experience with telemetry and IV starts required
  • Strong working knowledge of PCU, DOU, IMC, and stepdown care
  • Ability to manage central lines and peripheral line care
  • Experience with heparin protocols, insulin drips, and cardiac drips
  • Skill in dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry monitoring
  • Comfortable working with high-flow nasal cannula and heated high-flow oxygen
  • Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled, compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care setting
  • Monitor telemetry, assess patient status, and respond to changes in acuity
  • Manage cardiac drips, heparin therapy, and insulin protocols per unit standards
  • Support patients with respiratory needs including high-flow oxygen therapies
  • Perform IV starts, maintain line care, and support central line management
  • Interpret dysrhythmias and collaborate with the care team on timely interventions
  • Float to similar or lower-acuity units within the organization as needed
  • Deliver efficient, team-oriented care in a collaborative hospital environment
