  • Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

  • Orientation: 72 hours
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Float: May be required within scope to other acute care oncology units

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in hand at the time of submission
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
  • Current hands-on acute care experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Experience with Epic charting preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced mixed-acuity environment
  • Comfort with adult and geriatric patient populations
  • Ability to provide 2 professional references, including at least 1 leadership reference

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside care to surgical oncology patients in a Progressive Care Unit setting
  • Monitor and manage patients with complex medical and surgical needs, including mixed med-surg and PCU acuity
  • Administer and monitor chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips as ordered
  • Care for patients experiencing oncologic emergencies, cytokine release syndrome, and other acute changes in condition
  • Perform and support chest tube care, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and respiratory support such as BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care
  • Follow strict infection prevention and fall prevention protocols
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, PT, radiology, rapid response, and more
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
  • Adapt to evolving unit needs while delivering safe, patient-centered care
