Travel RN Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.

- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 nurse to 3 patients
- Float Requirement: Float to other units or a nearby affiliated location as needed; no additional commute is expected for the nearby location
- Weekend Availability: May be required based on staffing needs
PCU Travel Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience in a PCU, step-down, progressive care, intermediate care, or comparable setting
- Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a valid compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Recent Epic electronic health record experience
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Demonstrated telemetry nursing and cardiac rhythm interpretation experience
- Ability to float between units and adapt to changing patient-care needs
- Two professional references, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal nursing leader
- Flu vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered
Progressive Care RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of diagnoses in a PCU or step-down environment
- Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, arterial lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, and wound-care therapies
- Administer medications, blood products, insulin protocols, and non-titrated cardiac or vasoactive infusions according to clinical standards
- Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, CPAP, and other noninvasive airway interventions
- Perform and document assessments, care plans, interventions, and patient responses in Epic
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation, radiology, IV services, social services, and rapid response teams
- Recognize and escalate clinical deterioration, utilizing rapid response and emergency procedures when appropriate
- Float to designated units as needed while maintaining safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care
