PCU Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool Night Shift in Columbus, Ohio

PCU Travel RN Job Details
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940-$2,040
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- End Date: February 15, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 nurse to 3 patients
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Healthcare Setting: Progressive care, step-down, telemetry, and intermediate care units
- Floating: May be required across affiliated units, including a nearby hospital within approximately a five- to six-minute walk
- Weekends: Weekend shifts may be assigned according to staffing needs
PCU Travel Nurse Requirements
- At least 1 year of PCU, progressive care, step-down, intermediate care, or telemetry nursing experience
- Active Ohio or compact-state Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at the time of submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience
- Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Willingness to float to other affiliated units as needed
- Two professional references, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader; a Charge RN may serve as the second reference
- Ability to complete required credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting promptly after acceptance
PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric PCU patients with a broad range of diagnoses
- Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and recognize changes in patient condition
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, and peripheral IV access
- Administer blood products, oxygen therapy, non-invasive airway support, and high-flow nasal cannula therapy
- Manage insulin protocols, heparin protocols, and non-titrated cardiac or vasoactive infusions according to established guidelines
- Provide pre- and post-procedure care, including support for neurosurgical and hemodialysis patients
- Perform wound care, wound-vac management, phlebotomy, and other progressive-care nursing interventions
- Respond to clinical deterioration by initiating appropriate interventions and collaborating with rapid response and code teams
- Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams
- Adapt quickly to float assignments while maintaining safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care
