- Typical Patient Ratio: 4 patients
- Weekend Requirement: Some weekends required; approximately four weekend shifts per four-week schedule
- Additional Expectations: Floating to other units within the organization and call participation may be required
Travel RN Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience in a PCU, stepdown, progressive care, intermediate care, or similar setting
- Valid compact or Ohio Registered Nurse license in hand at the time of submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and provide telemetry nursing care
- Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula use, peripheral line care, isolation precautions, and rapid response or code team activation
- Two professional references, including at least one from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
- Willingness to complete required Ohio credentialing and fingerprinting promptly
PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with chronic medical conditions and varying levels of acuity
- Monitor patients in a progressive care environment and promptly identify changes in condition
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage patients with dysrhythmias in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
- Administer medications, oxygen therapy, and other prescribed treatments safely and accurately
- Perform patient assessments, documentation, peripheral line care, and ongoing patient education
- Use appropriate isolation precautions and personal protective equipment
- Respond appropriately to rapid response and code situations
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and support services
- Float to other units as needed while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care
