- Unit Profile: 30-bed cardiac progressive care unit with a typical daily census of approximately 29 patients

Progressive Care RN Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or cardiac progressive care nursing experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand, either an applicable compact license or Ohio state license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Recent experience caring for adult cardiac patients in a lower-acuity progressive care setting
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
- Strong clinical skills in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, oxygen administration, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management
- Ability to provide timely professional references, including at least one reference from a supervisor, manager, director, or other formal leader
- Ability to complete required credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting promptly after accepting the travel nursing assignment
PCU Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for adult patients in a cardiac progressive care setting
- Assess patient conditions, recognize changes in clinical status, and initiate appropriate interventions
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias while escalating concerns to the appropriate care team members
- Administer medications and support specialized cardiac therapies, including anti-arrhythmic medication loading and post-procedure care
- Care for patients with arrhythmias, syncope, chest pain, congestive heart failure, endocarditis, post-CABG recovery, valve repair, and other complex cardiac diagnoses
- Provide care related to cardiac catheterizations, cardioversions, arrhythmia ablations, pacemaker procedures, and sheath management
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and comply with nursing standards, safety practices, and unit procedures
- Float to other units of similar or lower acuity when required while maintaining excellent patient care and teamwork
