Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040

- Shift Duration: 12-hour days

PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent PCU, progressive care, step-down, or intermediate care nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience is preferred but not required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Active Registered Nurse license in hand at the time of submission; compact or Ohio RN licensure accepted
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Recent experience with Epic electronic health record documentation
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Demonstrated experience with cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Two professional references required, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
- Current influenza vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered
- Completion of required Ohio fingerprinting and credentialing steps promptly after acceptance
PCU Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with a broad range of medical and surgical diagnoses
- Monitor patients requiring PCU-level care, including telemetry, frequent assessments, and rapid clinical intervention
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Initiate and maintain peripheral IVs and provide care for central lines, PICC lines, feeding tubes, and tracheostomies
- Manage oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and other non-invasive airway support
- Administer blood products and manage heparin, insulin, cardiac, and vasoactive medication protocols according to policy
- Provide chest tube, wound, renal failure, and pre- and post-procedure care as clinically indicated
- Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias, respiratory changes, and other signs of patient deterioration
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
- Float to other appropriate units when needed while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
