- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Floating: Required to float within equivalent or lower acuity units as needed
- Patient Ratio: 1:3 estimated
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or step-down nursing experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS required
- EPIC experience required
- Experience with telemetry and IV starts required
- Strong knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac monitoring
- Experience with heparin protocols, insulin drips, and central line care/management
- Ability to manage cardiac drips, high-flow nasal cannula, and related PCU-level therapies
- Minimum of one year of experience may be considered if not otherwise specified by specialty requirements
- Preparedness to complete compliance and credentialing requirements promptly
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adults and geriatrics in a progressive care setting
- Monitor and assess patients with complex medical conditions, including renal, hepatology, cardiology, pulmonology, and cystic fibrosis cases
- Administer and manage therapies such as heparin, insulin drips, cardiac drips, and high-flow oxygen support
- Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias accurately
- Start and manage peripheral IVs and support central line care
- Respond to changes in patient condition and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for safe, effective care
- Float to appropriate units within the organization as needed based on patient care needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit protocols using EPIC
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care environment
