Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – Columbus, Ohio Travel Nursing Job
Join a dynamic Med/Surg Tele team in Columbus, Ohio, as a Travel Registered Nurse and provide high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients in a mixed-acuity burn and specialty surgery setting. This 13-week travel nursing contract offers the opportunity to care for patients undergoing burn, plastic and reconstructive, urology, gynecologic, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial procedures. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940-$2,040
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- End Date: February 15, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
- Charting: Epic
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Floating: Required to other units within the health system as needed
Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience in Med/Surg Tele, medical-surgical nursing, or a comparable acute-care setting
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a valid compact nursing license in hand at the time of submission
- Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Recent Epic charting experience
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Ability to provide two professional references, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal clinical leader
- Strong adaptability and willingness to float between units when needed
Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with medical, surgical, burn, and specialty surgery diagnoses
- Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms, escalating concerns promptly
- Perform focused and comprehensive assessments, develop nursing care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Provide burn dressings, wound care, wound-vac management, flap checks, and leech therapy as appropriate
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, chest tubes, surgical drains, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, and urinary catheters
- Administer blood products, IV medications, insulin protocols, heparin protocols, and non-titrated cardiac drips according to policy
- Provide respiratory support, including oxygen administration, high-flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP management
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, effective patient care
- Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and participate in rapid response and code team activities
- Float to other clinical units as assigned while maintaining professional standards and continuity of care
