- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 Bedside Nurses, 4 Patient Care Technicians, 1 Unit Secretary
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 Bedside Nurses, 3 Patient Care Technicians
- Patient Ratios: 1:4; stretch staffing at 1:5 ratio
- Types of Patients:
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Myocardial Infarction (MI)
- Chest Pain (CP)
- Arrhythmia
- Pulmonary Hypertension
- Valvular Disease
- Endocarditis
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Post Cardiac Catheterization/Stenting
- Post Pacemaker/ICD/Ablation
- Equipment: Zoll, Baxter pump, lift equipment, bladder scanner
- Electronic Medical Record: Cerner
Typical Candidate Qualifications
- Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Stepdown or Progressive Care and Telemetry.
- Required Skills:
- Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin).
- Previous relief charge experience.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
