Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU Float position requiring telemetry skills, IV starts, and an Ohio or compact RN license.

Details

  • PCU Float Pool position within a hospital setting
  • May be required to float to another OSU-affiliated hospital within a short walking distance
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
  • Weekend shifts may be required
  • Cares for cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patient populations
  • Requires EPIC EMR experience

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent step-down/PCU experience required
  • Required skills include IV starts and telemetry monitoring
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
  • Those outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location soon after booking; those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former employees eligible for assignment only after 6+ months away from the facility
  • Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are not eligible for traveler positions
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
