Travel RN Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience, including medical-surgical and telemetry nursing
  • Previous charge nurse experience is required
  • Current Registered Nurse license valid for practice in Washington; compact license must be active and in hand when applicable
  • Clinical experience in the United States is required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • NIHSS certification
  • Telemetry and cardiac step-down nursing experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Ability to provide care across varying acuity levels and adapt quickly to different unit workflows
  • Strong communication, collaboration, prioritization, and clinical judgment skills

Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across medical-surgical, telemetry, and emergency department overflow settings
  • Float throughout the facility to support staffing needs and maintain quality patient care
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and initiate appropriate interventions
  • Manage patients requiring telemetry monitoring, oxygen via nasal cannula, isolation precautions, and other acute-care interventions
  • Complete comprehensive assessments, administer medications, implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
  • Coordinate care with providers, rehabilitation, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
  • May assume charge responsibilities on smaller units, including staffing coordination, bed flow, and general unit oversight
  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic
  • Promote patient safety, infection prevention, effective handoff communication, and continuity of care
