Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 4 years of OR experience with Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic specialties.

Details

• Operating Room unit with service lines including Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• 18 week assignment length
• Variable weekend requirements to be discussed during interview
• Variable call requirements to be discussed during interview
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice, including to Outpatient as needed
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 4 years of Operating Room experience required prior to travel
• Required specialty experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Prior travel experience required
• Experience with specific procedures including hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, tubal ligation, D&C, laparoscopic gynecological procedures, ALIF, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, XLIF, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, Whipple, arthroscopy, closed and open fracture reduction, and total joint replacement
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) strongly preferred at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties in a general OR and transplant setting including intestinal, kidney, liver, organ donation, and pancreas cases
• Unit does not accept first-time travelers
• Full compliance required to start on time, as non-compliance results in a two week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of consideration
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• Blackout dates for RTO include 11/23-11/29 and 12/21-1/3
• Holiday coverage expected for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day, with limited holiday RTO consideration only if three holidays fall within the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Previous Piedmont employees (Perm/Per Diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who cancelled or were DNR'd must complete one successful assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
• Shift and contract length are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
• Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
