Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 4 years of OR experience with expertise in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Ortho procedures.

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• Service lines include Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics
• Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Variable weekend and call requirements discussed during interview
• Floating required within facility/scope of practice and to Outpatient as needed
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 4 years of Operating Room experience required prior to travel
• Required experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic surgical procedures
• Specific skills required include ALIF, Craniotomy, Kyphoplasty, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion, XLIF, Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair, Thyroidectomy, Whipple, Arthroscopy, Closed and Open reduction of fractures, and Total joint replacement
• Gynecological procedure experience required including Abdominal/Vaginal hysterectomy, Colporrhaphy, Bilateral tubal ligation, Dilation & Curettage, and Laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures
• Transplant surgery experience required including Intestinal, Kidney, Liver, Organ donation, and Pancreas procedures
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Must be away from all facilities within the health system for 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers who previously cancelled or were not retained must complete one assignment outside the health system before reapplying
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of consideration
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week or after offer/onsite
• Holiday coverage required; no holiday RTO approved if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment, with limited consideration if 3 holidays occur
• Blackout dates apply for RTO around Thanksgiving and the December holiday period
• Shift and schedule as listed are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
• Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a two-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
