Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Pediatric OR position requiring prior travel experience, scrub and circulate skills, and 2+ years of OR nursing experience.
Details
- 30-bed Pediatric Operating Room caring for patients from newborn to 17 years of age
- Shift options include 5x8s or 4x10s, scheduled 0645-1515 or 0645-1715
- Call requirements of approximately 6-8 shifts per month, including some weeknights and weekends on a rotating self-scheduled basis
- No floating to sister facilities
- Uses Cerner EMR, Accudose, and SBAR charting/communication methods
Requirements
- Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending WV license accepted for consideration but must be active prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required, including scrub and circulate skills
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- BLS certification required
- Pediatric General OR and General OR experience required
- IV start skills preferred
- Robotic surgery experience preferred
- Experience in pediatric and women's specialty settings strongly preferred
- Minimum 2 Manager/Charge Nurse references required from within the past 2 years
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Facility is a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU, and a major teaching hospital within the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
- Bright blue scrub color required
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption documented; COVID vaccine not required
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
- No local candidates accepted
- Former CAMC permanent employees must wait 2 years from last day worked before returning as a travel contractor
- Current employees of Vandalia Health System facilities (including CAMC, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this travel contract
- RTO requests should be submitted at time of application; manager prefers added days to maintain the full 13-week assignment length
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
