Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x10s (6:45–17:15) or 5x8s (6:45–15:15) | On-call required (approximately 6–8 call shifts per month, including some weeknights and weekends on a rotating basis)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide perioperative nursing care in a 30-bed Operating Room unit serving pediatric patients from newborn through 17 years of age
  • Perform both scrub and circulating roles as required by the unit
  • Collaborate with surgical teams within a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and major teaching hospital environment
  • Utilize electronic charting systems including Cerner, Accudose, and SBAR documentation
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to meet unit needs; schedule cannot be blocked and must align with unit demands

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license in West Virginia or a Compact state (pending WV license accepted for submission; active license required prior to start)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with a minimum of 2 years of Operating Room RN experience
  • Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Demonstrated experience in both General OR and Pediatric General OR settings, with proficiency in scrub and circulate roles
  • Must have a permanent address at least 75 miles from the facility; candidates between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption with documented allergist or physician record may be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience in a pediatric and/or women's specialty setting
  • Robotic surgical experience
  • IV start proficiency
  • Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
