Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. This role requires an experienced nurse who is skilled in managing patient care in the operating room setting.

Unit Information

• Location: Surgery, Live Oak, TX
• Unit Details:
  • 5 Operating Rooms
  • Staffing includes:
    • 5 Full-Time Registered Nurses
    • 2 Part-Time Registered Nurses
    • 3 PRN Registered Nurses
    • 12 Surgical Technologists
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1
  • Type of Equipment: Basic OR equipment including cautery, video monitors, arthroscopy equipment, and positioning equipment
  • Electronic Medical Record System: Meditech

Position Responsibilities

The Operating Room Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Providing high-quality patient care during surgical procedures
• Circulating in the operating room, ensuring all safety protocols are followed
• Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participating in rotating call responsibilities, including one weeknight and one weekend call shift every 5 weeks

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • Experience as an OR circulator
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Willingness to fulfill rotating call requirements
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in orthopedic, general, gynecological, robotic, urological, vascular, cardiovascular, neurological, and thoracic procedures
• Personality Fit: Candidates should be flexible, caring, compassionate, and possess a positive attitude.

Work Schedule

This position requires rotating weekend and night call shifts. The regular work hours are from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Scrub attire will be provided at the facility.
