Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 4 years of OR experience with expertise in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic procedures.

Details

• Operating Room unit supporting Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics service lines
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend and call requirements are variable and will be discussed during interview
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice, including to Outpatient as needed
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 4 years of Operating Room experience required prior to travel
• Required surgical experience in General Surgery, Neurology, Orthopedics, Transplant, and GYN procedures
• Specific skills required include hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, tubal ligation, D&C, laparoscopic gynecological procedures, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, spinal fusion techniques (ALIF, XLIF, Kyphoplasty), appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, Whipple procedure, arthroscopy, fracture reduction, and total joint replacement
• Transplant experience required including intestinal, kidney, liver, organ donation, and pancreas procedures
• Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

• Perform surgical support across a broad range of service lines and specialties in a high-acuity OR setting
• No holiday RTO approved during blackout dates of 11/23-11/29 and 12/21-1/3
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may delay start by up to two weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or DNR'd by the facility must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
