Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 4 years of OR experience with Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN and Orthopedic case experience.

Details

• Operating Room unit supporting Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN and Orthopedics service lines
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM
• Variable weekend requirements discussed during interview
• Variable call requirements discussed during interview
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice, including to Outpatient as needed
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 4 years of Operating Room experience required prior to travel
• Required case experience in Neurology (ALIF, Craniotomy, Kyphoplasty, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion, XLIF), Transplant (Intestinal, Kidney, Liver, Organ donation, Pancreas), General Surgery (Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair, Laparoscopic procedures, Thyroidectomy, Whipple), GYN (Hysterectomy, Colporrhaphy, Tubal ligation, D&C, Laparoscopic procedures), and Orthopedics (Arthroscopy, Closed/Open reduction of fractures, Laminectomy/discectomy, Total joint replacement)
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Unit does not accept first-time travelers
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Perm, per diem, or FCSS staff must be away from all facilities within this health system for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who cancel or receive a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside this health system before reapplying
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of consideration
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week or after offer/onsite
• No holiday RTO can be requested if one or two major holidays fall during the assignment; if three major holidays occur, one holiday RTO request may be considered
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• Shift and schedule are firm with no alternate shift or schedule requests permitted
• Full compliance required to start on time
