Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Trauma and Life Support ICU – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour day/evening shifts, every other weekend rotation, holiday coverage included. Four 12-hour shifts per week available for interested candidates. 2:1 patient ratio across all shifts.

  • 24-bed Level One Trauma Center ICU caring for critically ill medical, surgical, and trauma patients
  • Academic medical center utilizing cutting-edge, evidence-based therapies and research studies
  • Epic charting system with advanced life support technologies including ECMO and continuous dialysis
  • 2024 American Association of Critical Care Nurses Gold Level Beacon Award recipient – the highest honor in critical care
  • Adult and geriatric patient population with daily census of 23 patients
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services

Requirements:

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state license
  • Minimum 2 years of acute ICU experience within the last 3 years required
  • Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
  • Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start date with strict passing criteria
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
