Job Summary
Telemetry Nurse in the Telemetry specialty is needed in an acute care setting. The position involves supporting a busy Level 1 trauma unit, providing care to patients with cardiac and neurological conditions, and interpreting EKG strips. The role requires flexibility with scheduling and floating as needed.
Job Details
- Position Description: Support a Level 1 trauma unit with responsibilities including telemetry monitoring, basic EKG interpretation, and patient care for neurological and cardiac conditions with a backup for neuro surgery and Candida Aurias patients.
- Certifications/Education/Experience: Valid ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required. Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience with previous work in busy hospital environments preferred. Experience with EPIC charting system and charge experience preferred.
- Schedule: Day shift or night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week, scheduled weekly on an every-other-week basis, rotating weekends and holidays.
- Additional Qualifications: Must be experienced with basic EKG, capable of interpreting strips, and flexible to float within units as needed. Previous experience with cardiac drips and working in a fast-paced hospital setting is preferred.
- Submission Requirements: Active license required for submission.
- Notes: Orientation involves two days of classroom training followed by two shifts on the floor. Parking options available at a cost of $15+ per day. The hospital may cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment or three shifts for shorter assignments.
