Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact license eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- At least 6 months of acute care hospital experience preferred
- BLS required
- ACLS required prior to direct patient care or within 6 months of hire, as applicable
- Dysrhythmia exam required
- Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
- Ability to care for adult and geriatric patient populations
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process from assessment through evaluation
- Monitor telemetry rhythms and accurately interpret/sign rhythm strips
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with nursing standards and unit protocols
- Manage patients with cardiac, respiratory, renal, stroke/TIA, and post-operative needs
- Care for patients with chest tubes, central lines, drains, wound vacs, and titratable drips
- Support patients requiring advanced respiratory support such as high-flow oxygen and continuous BiPAP
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate safe, efficient patient care
- Educate patients and families while advocating for comfort, safety, and positive outcomes
- Respond calmly and confidently to changes in patient condition and prioritize care effectively
