Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure
  • Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Neuro/stroke nursing experience preferred
  • Comfort working in a Progressive Care Unit or Stepdown environment
  • Ability to manage patients with cardiac drips and complex monitoring needs
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare setting

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to progressive care patients
  • Perform thorough assessments and monitor for changes in patient condition
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with best practices and policy
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
  • Monitor telemetry, respond to dysrhythmias, and support patients with cardiac drips
  • Provide care for adults and older adults with complex medical and neurological needs
  • Prioritize care and respond confidently in rapidly changing clinical situations
  • Educate patients and families to support recovery and continuity of care
