Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Tele

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Telemetry team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a passion for providing high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Management of patients receiving continuous IV medications including cardiac drips, diuretics, anticoagulants, and insulin drips.
• Care for patients with arrhythmias, cardiac congestive heart failure (CHF), chest pain, and various renal and pulmonary conditions.
• Provide care for surgical patients and those with post-cardiac catheterization needs.
• Perform triage and manage patients transferring from overflow areas as needed.
• Utilize electronic health records, such as Epic, for patient documentation.
• Implement SBAR communication protocols to ensure patient safety and care continuity.

Patient Population

This position involves caring for adult to geriatric patients within an overflow Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU).

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant setting is required.
• Experience managing continuous IV medications is essential.
• Candidates must hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Basic knowledge of arrhythmias and applicable care protocols is necessary.

Working Environment

• Staff will provide care in a fast-paced environment with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5-6.
• This unit consists of 32 beds, requiring flexibility in handling various patient cases.
• Candidates may be required to float within the facility as needed.

Additional Information

• Shifts are typically 3 twelve-hour day shifts from 07:00 to 19:00.
• Weekends will generally be every other weekend, with permanent staff scheduled first.
• Traveling staff may be required to work major holidays within their assignment period.
• Compliance with all start-time requirements is necessary for timely onboarding.
