Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 15 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with neuro or surgical experience preferred. License: Active nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have skills: Experience with vaso-active drips, central line management, pulmonary artery catheters, external ventricular drains, flap monitoring, arterial lines, and wound care. Familiarity with charting systems, preferably EPIC. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The unit treats patients from various surgical specialties including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and transplants. Candidates should have significant experience managing complex patient needs and critical care interventions. Travelers will be required to work weekends as per the unit’s scheduling needs. Floating to other ICU units within the facility may be required. This role requires the management and monitoring of critical care equipment and the ability to interpret clinical data for patient assessment. Teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary support services will be essential for optimal patient care. Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong clinical decision-making skills and effectively manage multiple patient care tasks. A commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and infection control is expected. Strong communication skills are necessary for interacting with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
