Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardio-thoracic Intensive Care Unit Duration: 15 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Active Nursing License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Vents experience - IV Start experience - PA Lines experience - Travel Experience Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Cardio-thoracic Intensive Care Unit. The shift is nights, 3 shifts per week, from 19:00 to 07:30. The nurse will be responsible for caring for post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:1. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar setting. First-time travelers are not accepted for this position. Weekend shifts are required unless the schedule states otherwise. Candidates must possess certifications in ACLS and BLS. The unit cares for patients who may require mechanical circulatory support and other advanced therapies. Candidates should have experience with devices such as Impella, IABP, PA lines, and Ventricular Assist Devices. Previous experience with lung and heart transplant patients is preferred. Travelers may float to different ICU units within the facility but will not float to sister hospitals. A flexible scheduling approach is needed to accommodate the unit's needs. RTO restrictions apply, with a total of 7 days off allowed in November and December, including holidays. References must be provided upon request during the application process.
