Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years Required License: Active License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Airway management Management of IV drips Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure ICU and step down experience Must float to step down as needed Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The role requires a commitment to providing high-quality care to critically ill patients. The nurse will manage multiple IV drips and provide airway management as needed. Experience in managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure is crucial. This nurse should be proficient in the care of ventilated patients and blood product administration. The candidate must be able to interpret arterial blood gases and manage dysrhythmias. Floating to a step down unit may be required based on facility needs. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. This position will have a patient ratio of 2:1 for days and nights. The unit provides interdisciplinary support from various specialties as needed. The expected daily census is 19 patients, with a total of 23 beds available. Candidates must hold certification in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. The position is open to first-time travelers and those with pending licenses, provided it is active prior to the start date.
