Surgical/Trauma ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

The Surgical/Trauma ICU is a dynamic, 15-bed intensive care unit that focuses on adult critical care for surgical and trauma patients. We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in providing exceptional care in this fast-paced environment.

Job Details

  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Night shift, 4x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00)
  • Hours Offered: 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
  • Time Off: Approval for up to 40 hours can be granted

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be accountable for delivering high-quality care to patients in the Surgical/Trauma ICU. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and assessing patient conditions
  • Administering medications and treatments as necessary
  • Collaborating with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care
  • Adhering to hospital protocols and policies
  • Participating in unit meetings and training sessions

Qualifications

  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required
  • Experience with Epic documentation system is necessary
  • Must adhere to float policy as required by the unit
  • A Virginia nursing license is required (pending license may be accepted)
